1. Festive Celebrations
We celebrate all religiions and appreciate all cultures. We believe that celebrating festivals help children connect with their roots, stay grounded, find common ground with peers, develop tollerance and find an anchor in life which are important life skills for their future. So festive times are celebrated with pomp and importance is given to the details of the celebration
2. Awareness campaigns
At oyster we take the business of giving back to society very seriously. We involve young kids to spread the awareness message. Involving kids benefit society in two ways, one the message is strongly delivered and second the younger gen is sensitized early in life to become responsible and caring citizens.
3.Oyster Podcast
“Shruthi Katha” is a form of narration where we will be using various forms of music played in the background while a mythological story is being narrated to kids, intertwined with sanskrit slokas that are known to invoke the divine, positive energies and vibrations. “Shruthi Katha” as the name suggests, the Sanskrit word Shruthi has multiple meanings depending on the context. It means “hearing”,” listening”, a call to “listen to a speech”. The word Shruthi is also found in ancient music luterature, where it means a particular division of the octave. The other word Katha means story. When we use the combined word”Shruthi Katha” one could probably relate it to a form wherein the narration is intermingled with a variety of sounds supplementing the story. This way the kids can give a ear to both forms music and mythology in a mind calming and positive environment.
4.Custom Food
WHOLESOME TREATS
Food plays an integral part in shaping a child’s body and mind. The children of “Oyster Kids” have been exposed to a whole new palate in an effort to incorporate the habit of eating healthy.
‘Wholesome Treat” is the brainchild of Sukanya Rangarajan, a mother of 2. It is a step towards providing healthy, wholesome and nutritious meals for children without compromising on the “yummy” factor. It has been a successful five months and the interest and appreciation for this novel concept is only increasing.
The one meal a day that Oyster Kids will have is an attempt to reduce processed/packaged food from the child’s meal patterns.Wholesome Treat provides interesting, carefully chalked out meals for the children using ingredients that are closer to Mother Earth and natural. Their crispy dosa rolls have the goodness of hand pounded red rice and horsegram, the whole wheat parathas are stuffed with healthy veggies, and the idlies don’t bore the kids as there is a large variety- from different millers to colourful idlies made with puréed vegetables.
Cheese and cucumber sandwiches on one day, barnyard millet dosa on one and whole wheat pooris on another- the children are not only spoilt for choice but also look forward to their daily meal.
This customised meal plan curated by Oysterkids & Wholesome Treats is a sure fire way of inculcating healthy eating habits in the children at a very young age.
