Custom Food ( Wholesome treats )
"Wholesome Treats is a venture started by Sukanya Rangarajan with a passion towards healthy wholesome cooking. Wholesome Treats is proud to be associated with Oyster Kids with the sole aim of introducing your child to healthy organic & home cooked traditional food . The menu has been carefully designed keeping in mind the nutritional value and the varied tastes that the toddlers are exposed to. We are confident that your children will be taught to make a healthy choice in the process". Why healthy eating is important? Eating healthy has now become very popular and people are trying to find various means and approaches to fulfil that. More people are willing to try out different recipes using wholegrains, millets and other organic foods. This comes at a time when food allergies are clearly on the increase. At the top of the list is wheat & rice, the indisputable, primary staple of our diet and the very foundation of the food pyramid. Given how important rice and other carbohydrates are to our basic food requirements, it is no wonder that people seek a healthy, quick and easy substitute for rice and rice based snacks. Eating healthy isn’t always easy, but committing to a healthy diet can be one of the smartest decisions you can ever make. Even if you intend to “eat healthy,” knowing exactly it means can be challenging. Millets and Wholegrains are an interesting alternative to the more common grains. It provides a host of nutrients, has a sweet nutty flavour, and are considered to be some of the most digestible and non-allergenic grains available. Why a healthy breakfast is important: Talking about the significance of wholegrains and millets as an alternative for the more common grains in our daily diet, it is rather important to find a balance and choose recipes more intelligently which brings together these grains. Adding wholegrains and millets to your daily meal in small portions will do wonders to your body.
I really want to thank you , whatever Nandan is I think Oyster kids played a big part. I really really believe that you are doing an amazing job and an awesome job . Your involvement shows in every single detail in school and every single activity that is planned and lessons taught in school your involvement , love and passion is seen . I am very grateful so I put him initially because I know you and he is very young and I wanted him to go to a safe place . And now I know that I made the best choice . Its not because of the safety part it because of the quality of what is being provided there and I am very grateful that I put him there. I had to convey this , Thank you so much for taking a good care of my baby and other babies too . And I have to mention about the food , its such an enduring thing that you provide them. Thank you so much for everything! I really hope the school grows in strength and everything else . My best wishes to you !

Review by Tanya Pavithra ( Vikranth Mom)
My experience as a parent at Oyster,
I was delighted, as it’s clearly one of the best decisions we’ve made for our child. Oyster is run on a solid foundation of love and acceptance. The genuine ability to respect and treat each child as an individual with distinct likes and dislikes, never quelling the free spirit to be forced into a mould. The focus is on nurturing free- will over discipline, enquiry led learning over mundane structure and the flexibility to constantly adapt new methodologies. What makes Oyster special, is of course its wonderful people. The first time we met the Principal of our son’s school, my husband and I were both a little nervous. We come from an era where our parents feared the Principal as much as we did. What a relief, the meeting with Charanya turned out to be … she gave out this air of being a young parent, friendly and approachable; quite unlike the formidable headmistress we grew up fearing. Her approach to parenting; resonated entirely with us. Here was someone who wanted to partner with us in the step by step development of our child. She is always open to suggestions and constantly is on the look out to improve.
The wonderful team of care givers and Acharyas who support Charanya in her endeavour every day, imbibe the spirit of love and learning in every single activity.
Probably the best testimonial to Oyster kids… from a student.. Vikrant. For a child who took a long time to settle in and accept to go to school, and who would cry at the gates when I drop him off; to now; every time I come to pick him up at 1pm, he says – Amma why have you come so EARLY?
Oyster has truly taught us that you have to go OUTSIDE your comfort zone to learn and experience new things of wonder.
Oyster Kids to us is like the tall colourful coconut tree, right at the very entrance of the school; warm and welcoming with its cheerful colors, standing tall and sturdy in the swaying breeze, an earthy permanence in the roughness of its bark and finally a comforting friend to wrap your arms around.
To me, the image of my little boy at pick up with his arm around the coconut tree is something I will forever treasure, even when he is twenty five. Because when his arms are around the tree, there is always a smile on his face because he’s in his happy place!

We’re very pleased with the social and verbal skills that our two year old boys have picked up from Oyster. We also observe that they show more interest in putting things in their respective places after taking them out.
The teachers and akkas are warm and loving, which is obvious in the way the kids fondly refer to them also at home.
The music class is a big hit with my boys, who constantly sing ‘Ennamma Thozhi’, a song taught to them at school. They seem to enjoy the food served and are showing more inclination to eat by themselves.
We’re happy with the Oyster experience that our kids are enjoying.
